Installation of this tank is really easy, keep the following in mind.
This water tank needs a good foundation so that all the weight is distributed evenly on to solid ground. When the tank is full it will weigh nearly 16,000 Kg and then it is supporting soil on top, if the foundation is poor, the tank could move causing pipework connections to break and cracks in the tank.
The bottom of the hole needs to be level, we recommend 100mm sand be spread in the base of the hole to ensure it is level and any large stones are covered to avoid pressure spots.
We recommend a square 3M by 3M hole is prepared with a flat even base so the bottom of the tank is supported evenly to ensure a long serviceability. A tolerance of 25mm - 1", is permitted over the base. Dig to a depth of 2450mm so the finished base with the sand in the bottom is at 2350mm. or only dig to 2350mm if you are digging in sand. The height of the tank is 2400mm to the top of the turret but you want a lip above the ground to stop mud washing into the tank with groundwater.
| Fit a 90mm stormwater Tee to the hole in the top of the tank with epoxy mortar as shown, connect one side of the tee to the downpipes on the house and the other end should run to the soak pit or overflow drain. Please ensure the pipework is fitted as close to the top of the tank as possible, this will ensure that an air gap is maintained below the Jobe part-fill valve to comply with backflow prevention regulations.
